Hong Kong University Baby Scientist Program – Public Talk

0-1 Year Old Infant Sleep

     

Babies are described as sleeping machines who spend nearly half of their time sleeping. Why do newborns need this much of sleep? When do babies establish circadian rhythm? Is any special attention needed during infant sleep? How could parents help babies sleep sounder?
In this free public talk to be held particularly for parents, Dr. Sun Wanqi, a pediatrician from mainland China and previously worked in Shanghai Children’s Medical Center, will introduce infant sleep patterns and share some clinical practices promoting infant sleep with interested parents.

HKU Baby Scientist Program
This parent talk is hosted by HKU Baby Scientist Program, started in 2010 by the Department of Psychology at the University of Hong Kong.  Baby Scientists aged between 1 to 12-months have been recruited to help researchers understand how human perceptual and cognitive abilities develop and mature. To date, there are more than 800 baby scientist alumni members.

0-1嵗嬰兒睡眠

 

        嬰兒們每一天他們幾乎有一半的時間都在睡覺,是名副其實的睡眠機器。你知道為甚麼新生兒需要這麼多睡眠嗎?嬰兒睡眠的晝夜節律又對他們的成長發展有甚麼樣的影響呢?當嬰兒在睡眠中需要什麼特别的注意呢?新手爸媽們又如何令寶貝們睡得更好呢?

        在是次的免費家長講座中,前上海兒童醫學中心孫莞綺兒科醫師(現為香港大學心理學系博士生),將介紹0-1嵗嬰兒的睡眠模式,以及分享幫助嬰兒更好地睡眠的臨床小竅門,讓家長能更好地照顧身邊的嬰兒。
